CONTACT THE PTA
Welcome to the Athenian Academy PTA
The Athenian Academy PTA’s mission is to advocate and support the welfare of our students in our school and community alike; moreover, to bring a closer relationship between the home, school, and that of our parents and teachers. Together we can collaborate intelligently in bringing the best education to our children and youth. We accomplish this mission by volunteering our time, uniting our efforts, and through fundraising.
We invite you and your family to join us for just $10 per person. Our general meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month. Meetings start at 6:00 PM. We will be seeking parent volunteers to provide free onsite childcare during our meetings (this will count towards your 20 required volunteer hours).
Becoming a member of your PTA is a rewarding experience, and demonstrates to our children the value that we, as a school and as a community place on teamwork. Parents’ time and resources are vital in sustaining our goals and commitment to our school. Did you know our school was awarded the Administrator of the year, PTA president of the year, and Volunteer of the year awards at the Pinellas County Council PTA Awards Program held May 18, 2012? Great things are happening at our school, and there are many ways for you to get involve!
We have a number of committees where you can offer your time and support, such as our fundraising team which helps to organize all fundraising efforts. We also have our Scholastic book fairs, Reflections, Parents’ Nights Out, and our Holiday Store. Money raised contributes to our 3R’s rewards program; a program that rewards children monthly for making good choices, and demonstrating that they are Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to Learn (3Rs).
Some of the PTA 3Rs sponsored programs during our 2011-2012 school year included our All Star 3Rs at Mosi, an on-site carnival, pancake breakfast, just to name a few. We also honored our teachers and staff with luncheons, and gave back to our school in many other ways. Last school year our membership increased by 25%, this year we are seeking 100% membership from our parents and teachers. Together let’s envision the future for the betterment and support of our students and school.
